This is a principle laid down by the<a href=\"https:\/\/ect.komk.fr\/en\/definitions\/climate-law-and-resilience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Climate and Resilience<\/a>&#8221; law of August 22, 2021, which deals with the fight against climate disruption.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The ZAN principle was born out of an observation about the consequences of urban sprawl and the resulting artificialization of land on :&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>climate change<\/li>\n<li>erosion of biodiversity<\/li>\n<li>increased flood risk<\/li>\n<li>the reduction of agricultural land<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The two main objectives of these regulations are :&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a 50% reduction in the rate of consumption of natural, agricultural and forest areas between 2021 and 2031<\/li>\n<li>no land consumption by 2050<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ofb.gouv.fr\/la-demarche-zan-zero-artificialisation-nette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OFB&nbsp;<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of ECT&#8217;s projects contribute to communities&#8217; ZAN objectives through undeveloped, permeable soils.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12278\" src=\"https:\/\/ect.komk.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/ECT-20180509-Brie-Comte-Robert-%C2%A9-Gil-Fornet-72-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ZAN stands for &#8220;Z\u00e9ro artificialisation Nette&#8221; (Zero Net Artificialization).
