A work made up of two 400-metre eyes<\/h2>\n

The official launch of Antoine Grumbach’s Land Art project “Les Yeux du Ciel”, supported and produced by ECT, was the occasion for several official gestures. A plaque was unveiled and the first tree planted. It was also an opportunity to sign a cooperation agreement with the CARPF conurbation and the neighboring towns of Le Mesnil-Amelot and Villeneuve sous Dammartin. B\u00e9atrice Abollivier, Prefect of Seine-et-Marne, represented the Prefecture of the Ile-de-France Region.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Roland Castro was also on hand to welcome Antoine Grumbach’s 1st Belvedere. He recalled that this project was included in his report to the French President, “du Grand Paris \u00e0 Paris en grand”.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

An ambitious Land Art and landscape design project<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Located directly in line with the runways at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, Antoine Grumbach’s “EYES OF THE SKY” will be visible to some 70 million air travellers. This promenade will celebrate biodiversity and agriculture, which will coexist with vast esplanades. Eventual goal: exhibitions, concerts and shows of all kinds.<\/p>\n

Antoine Grumbach defines the concept of his Land Art work as follows : \" At the boundary between urban, agricultural and forest areas, in the Monts de la Go\u00eble region, with inert soil that is not excavated material but a material, an aerial work of art will be created in the axis of the Roissy runways. <\/p>\n

“Les Yeux du Ciel” combines aerial discovery of landscapes and walks, agriculture and cultural and sporting leisure activities. This contemporary creation harks back to the tradition of prehistoric geoglyphs. It is part of a Metropolitan Land Art project celebrating the diversity of landscapes in the Paris region. This ambitious project aims to shape a collection of artificial hills. These hills are spread over a 30 km radius around the capital. They will thus become the “new Belvederes of Greater Paris”.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

An unusual site for a work celebrating earthen materials from urban construction sites<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

ECT’s Villeneuve sous Dammartin site, which hosts the project, is France’s largest site for recycling excavated soil from infrastructure (notably the GPE) and real estate construction sites.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Made entirely of excavated earth, it covers an area of 130 hectares and is 30 m high. By way of comparison, in Paris this corresponds to a perimeter stretching from the Cour Carr\u00e9e du Louvre to Place de la Concorde. On this vast expanse will rest 2 Eyes of 400 meters each.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Antoine Grumbach used the site’s unique geography to design this artistic intervention celebrating the nobility of excavated earth as a material. It is de facto<\/em> part of a virtuous circular economy.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

An emblematic project for the development of the Ile-de-France region<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

By 2030, the site will be served by line 17 of the Grand Paris Express. It will be located 1km from the future Mesnil-Amelot station (77), terminal station of line 17 of the Grand Paris Express. And it already benefits from its proximity to CDG-Roissy airport, the gateway to the capital region. The project aims to become a major tourist and cultural hub in the Seine-et-Marne region. And welcome visitors and tourists from the Greater Paris region.<\/p>\n

The project is being developed within the framework of a cooperation agreement between ECT, the project’s sponsor and sponsor, the commune of Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin, the commune of Le Mesnil-Amelot and the Communaut\u00e9 d’Agglom\u00e9ration Roissy Pays de France.<\/p>\n
